Abstracts Early Work

All my life as an artist I have painted in both representational and abstract mediums. These are some examples of earlier work, some of which can clearly be seen as inspired by Paul Klee who's work I first saw in Switzerland in 1960.

Allan BOULTER 1940- Painter, draughtsman and lino-cut artist, born in Reading, Berkshire. He attended Willesden Art School, 1953-6, Harrow Art School and gained his Royal Academy School’s certificate, 1961-3, notable teachers including Charles Mahoney. He won three David Murray Scholarships: London, Cornwall and Aix-en-Provence University, France. In 1973 Boulter won the Laing Calendar Prize Competition. Group shows included Penzance Library Art Centre Gallery, 1980 -7, and Hampstead Town Hall, 1985-6. Showed solo at Deal Library from 1979, Deal Serendipity Gallery from 1981 and Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club from 1984. Wandsworth Borough Council holds his works. Lives in Deal, Kent.
